Frequently Asked Questions
BIKE TRAVEL CASE SIZING
-
When determining the right bike travel case for your needs there are a couple of things to consider - namely the style and size of bike that you are looking to travel with, and your desired size of bike case.
Here at Orucase, we make compact travel cases, and a more traditional, full-size travel case. For customers looking to save on weight and limit the size of their luggage, a compact travel case such as our B2 case may be ideal. For customers looking to limit the required disassembly and travel with greater ease, the full-size Sentinel bike travel case will be up your alley.

Yes! Our new Sentinel Bike Travel Case is designed to allow for the safe and simple transportation of modern bikes - some of which can be very difficult to disassemble or pack into other cases. This case should allow you the room to leave your handlebars and fork installed and in-line, and on many bikes you can leave your seatpost in place as well. For specific fit and compatibility questions, reach out to us directly at info@orucase.com!

The B2-R travel case is able to accommodate a wide range of road and gravel bikes when handlebar and fork removal are easily achievable. This case can typically fit bikes up to 58cm / Large sizes without issue. The B2-MTB case can accommodate road and gravel bikes with the fork installed, on frames with a wheelbase of less than 39 inches.
If you are looking for a case that allows you to travel with your road or gravel frame assembled, then the Sentinel will be the best fit for your needs. For specific fit questions, send us an email using the contact page on our website.

As for traveling with an E-Bike in an Orucase - we have many customers who do so without issue! For E-bikes that feature a road / gravel bike geometry, the Sentinel Bike Travel Case would be our recommendation. For E-MTBs, with proper disassembly the B2-MTB case should accommodate your bike without issue.

While our bike travel cases are designed primarily around transporting road, gravel, or mountain bikes, we do have customers using our various models of bike case to fly with triathlon bikes. Special considerations may need to be made regarding the unique triathlon / time-trial handlebars, but the packing process is otherwise similar to other styles of bike.
For ease of packing and maximum protection, our Sentinel Travel Case would be our recommended product for triathlon bikes.

According to the US Department of Transportation, airlines are responsible for repairing or reimbursing a passenger for damaged baggage and/or its contents when the damage occurs while the bag is under the airline’s control during transportation. The statute of limitations is typically 2-3 weeks from the travel date that caused the damage, and some airlines have even stricter timelines for processing claims,so time is of the essence.
If your bike case has been damaged, you can contact us at info@orucase.com with a description and photos of the damage. We will generate a quote to repair your case or help supply you with a replacement. In a similar way, reach out to your local bike shop for bike specific repairs if applicable. These quotes can be provided to the airline when filing your claim.
